Wisconsin SIDS Laws

The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) gathers and updates information on State SIDS laws. Check here to see if your State has any SIDS laws on the books, and what other States are doing.

State Licensing and National Standards

Many resources for legislative initiatives promoting safe sleep environments are available on the website of the National Resource Center for Health and Safety in Child Care (NRC). Your State's licensing requirements can be searched for various issues such as training or sleep position.

The NRC site also offers a publication of national standards on reducing the risk of SIDS, based on Caring for Our Children, 2nd ed. The information is geared toward assisting states in forming licensing requirements to reduce rates of SIDS.
